Since we’ve already seen how picky chef’s can get when it comes to choosing the best places for pizza, we figured we’d try our luck with another contentious subject: the best burgers around.

Top 10 burgers around the country

    May 24, 2013 | Eatocracy

Kate Krader (@kkrader on Twitter) is Food & Wine’s restaurant editor. When she tells us where to find our culinary heart’s desire, we listen up.

As the weather warms up, burger eating is pretty much mandatory. If you’re not working a grill, you’ll probably be standing near someone wielding some patties and a metal spatula. But, I generally look to the professionals for my burgers. I asked the top burger judge I know, Josh Ozersky, for his top 10 burgers around the country. (For a list of the 25 best burgers around the country, look out for Food & Wine magazine’s August issue, which features picks from Josh, among others.)

A Dramatic Look Back at Two and Half Years of Husk

    May 23, 2013 | Eater

Charleston, these are the very last moments of claiming the world’s only operating Husk. Tonight, 549 miles away from the original “celebration of Southern ingredients,” Sean Brock and the Neighborhood Dining Group’s Husk Nashville will open, yanking the limelight off the Holy City, if only for an evening. Over in Tennessee, they’ll have a Husk with a guitar in its logo in place of the shovel, hot chicken on the menu (perhaps) and a slew of their own approved Southern providers, like the Chattanooga-based soda purveyors Double-Cola.

    SPEND SUNNY DAYS IN CHARLESTON

    May 14, 2013 | Daily Candy

Badass chef Sean Brock’s seasonal, local fare at famed Husk will make your head spin (or is that the punch?). Dig in to fresh seafood on the waterfront at Fleet Landing or slurp oysters at Pearlz. Bacon happy hour (Monday-Friday, 5-7 p.m.) with $5 meaty eats at The Macintosh is a must, but if you have a hankering for hamachi (and other raw fish), swanky sushi spot O-Ku is your go-to.

    4 Perfect Southern Summer Itineraries

    May 16, 2013 | Fodor's Travel Guide

Ah, the American South—a region filled with charming cities, good people, and better food. Although temperatures can soar during the summertime, we think it’s worth braving the heat for a taste of American history and diverse culture that only the South can provide. Even better, summer is considered off-season for most of these destinations so you’ll be able to score some sweet deals on hotels and more.

So we put together four summertime itineraries for your Southern touring pleasure. It’s a big swath of land, so don’t expect to cover it all in one trip (or even one summer). But these are the best places to start.

    Husk

    May 1, 2013 | Argus Guide

Many restaurants self-describe as being “ingredient-driven”. Few take that aspiration to the obsessive level that Sean Brock does at Husk, his wildly, sometimes hysterically, praised restaurant in Charleston’s historic district that uses exclusively ingredients available south of the Mason-Dixon line. Husk is located in a stately late 1800s mansion on Queen Street, with columned patios that evoke the grandeur and leisure of the Old South and that belie its surprisingly contemporary interior. There is also an adjacent, rusticated bar serving a plethora of variations on the theme of bourbon.
